Two members of the University
of Akron Delta Sigma Pi fraternity Jason
Hershiser, president, and Matt Stornes,
senior vice president, donated on behalf
of their organization $500 dollars to Hattie
Larlham.
The money was raised during
a Dec. 6 raffle at the Akron Barley House.
Various Cleveland Cavs collectibles were
auctioned during that night’s Cavs’
game. Items included a Larry Hughes bobblehead
doll and a signed LeBron James jersey.
The raffle was the first
time the business fraternity held an event
to benefit Hattie Larlham, but Hershiser
said Delta Sigma Pi previously worked with
other organizations and events to help people
with disabilities.
“We try to do at
least one big event a year,” Hershiser
said. “We look forward to working
with Hattie Larlham in the future.”
