M and M Sales and Service
“Local organizations helping local organizations,”
said Nick Cashier, vice president of Cub Cadet
commercial product marketing, is what makes
the June 2008 Cub Cadet M60 Tank riding lawnmower
donation to Hattie Larlham so special.
Cub Cadet is a product line of Cleveland-based
MTD,
a global manufacturer of outdoor power equipment.
The lawnmower was donated through M and
M Sales and Service, a Streetsboro, Ohio,
outdoor supply shop.
“Even the motor was made right down
the road,” David Phillips, M and M
Sales and Service co-owner, said.
The 60-inch deck, zero-turn-radius rider
will replace a 12-year-old mower that had
more than 3,000 riding hours on it—2,000
hours past the recommended amount. And it
will help cut the nearly 8-acres of lawn
at the Hattie Larlham Center for Excellence
in Mantua, Ohio.
The donation was part of the Hattie Larlham
Hope
At Work
capital campaign, a $16 million expansion
and rennovation of the Center for Excellence,
which began back in Sept. 2006. The project
is slated to wrap up early next year.
“We’re grateful these local
organizations could come through and contribute
such an important piece of equipment,”
said Jennifer Porter, Hattie Larlham associate
director of development.
